Rembrandt in a heavy fur cap.

Acquaforte di 60x56 mm. Rifilato al margine del rame e in alto. Firmato con monogramma RHL e datato 1631. Traccia di filigrana. Buon esemplare.

Stato unico. Autoritratto di Rembrandt che inizialmente fu concepito senza il cappello, infatti i capelli si possono ancora chiaramente intravedere in alto dove fu successivamente aggiunto un pesante cappello di pelliccia.

Condition Report

Etching of 60x56 mm. Trimmed on the platemark and on the top. Signed with monogram RHL an dated 1631. Trace of watermark. Good specimen.

One state only. Rembrandt’s portrait originally conceived without a cap, since the top of the head with the hair can be clearly seen. A heavy fur cap was later added.
