Condition Report

Very rare first edition. This is the first concrete act of fight against trafficking by the French State. On the first page the text of the decree of Louis XVIII that orders a constant patrolling of the French fleet on the coasts of Africa, to fight the trafficking of the Blacks. The order refers to two previous legislative acts that had established severe penalties for traffickers: the order of January 8, 187 which prescribed the confiscation of ships upon their arrival; the law of April 15, 1818 which specified the jurisdiction competent for the trial.
