Condition Report

A highly esteemed work for the precepts, the rules and surprising topical subjects that the author gives us to lead a healthy life; the Latin epistles of Seneca were written towards the end of his life, in the years of full maturity. In this version they were translated by Angelo Nicolosi, secretary of the Serenissima. They are therefore a collection of 124 letters, destined to their friend Lucillo, governor of Sicily, who want to be an instrument of moral growth. Each letter proposes a different theme, with a simple and immediate language that is easy to learn where the teacher wants to guide the inner improvement of the disciple. In the first three books the philosopher concludes each letter with a sentence, on an Epicurean model, even if Seneca does not declare himself his follower, offering a starting point to meditate on it. It is also present the Seneca idea of the human condition that unites all men, of living their existence with fullness and the passing of time.
