De Prodigis examines popular prejudices about divinatory art: it takes the form of a dialogue between Polidoro and his friend from Cambridge. Polidoro Virgilio da Urbino, 1470-1555, was an Italian humanist, writer and friend of Erasmus of Rotterdam. From 1502 to 1552 he lived in the English court and was the historic Tudor court.
