In folio, 320x240 mm; quarter calf binding. Gilt title and ornaments on spine. Pp. VIII, 306, [2], last leaf blank. Text in greek, latin and italian. Very slight foxing on some pages, but nice specimen with wide margins and uncut.

Condition Report

Beautiful edition of this important treatise in which the three versions are compared, namely the Greek, Latin and Italian, with the refined translation of Luigi Lanzi, as stated in the dedication signed by him. The Italian translation, in third rhymes, is considered one of the best. In this work, in fact, Lanzi gave proof of his profound knowledge of the classics and of the remarkable ability to elegantly pour. The work is dedicated to a couple just married: Angelo Lorenzo Giustiniani Recanati ed Elena Tiepolo. Cfr. Brunet, (III, 143); Gamba, 2582.
