Condition Report
The Commentariorum was the main work of Giansenio. It was a pioneering work in the history of Roman Catholic exegesis. The first edition was also published in Louvain in 1572. Cornelio Giansenio was the first bishop of the diocese of Ghent. He was a doctor in theology and participated in the Council of Trent. From 1562 to 1565 he was chairman of the Theological College of the University of Louvain.
