Un uomo barbuto che indossa un berretto che guarda in basso a destra.
1645-1650 ca.

Acquaforte. Foglio: 184x162 mm. Inciso: 178x147 mm. Firmato sulla lastra in alto a sinistra: CASTIGLIONE / GENOVESE. Carta vergellata, traccia di filigrana. Bell’esemplare.

Questa acquaforte rappresenta il motivo di una testa orientale esotica a cui Castiglione tornò più volte negli anni Quaranta del Seicento. Forse in parte ispirate dai commercianti stranieri che frequentavano la città portuale di Genova, queste teste di personaggi derivano anche dalle stampe di Rembrandt e Jan Lievens. Dalla serie delle Grandi teste con copricapi orientali.
