Particolarmente interessante, in questa raccolta di lettere e articoli apparsa originariamente a Parigi nel 1753, la serie delle 7 lettere indirizzate a Franklin in cui si discutono e talvolta si controbattono le opinioni dello scienziato americano e le esperienze da lui compiute nel 1752 circa la natura dei fenomeni elettrici.
