Vista meravigliosamente dettagliata del Forte Oranje olandese sull'isola di Itamaraca in Brasile. Itamaraca fu una delle prime zone del Brasile ad essere colonizzata dai portoghesi e produsse alcune delle più ricche piantagioni di zucchero nello stato di Pernambuco. Come Olinda, fu catturata dagli olandesi, che costruirono un imponente forte per salvaguardare i suoi possedimenti contro futuri attacchi. Legenda in basso a sinistra”. Mappa tratta dall’opera: “De nieuwe en onbekende weereld”. L’opera fu pubblicata ad Amsterdam nel 1671 da Jacon Meurs.
