Una pagina in 4to. 254x198 mm. Carta intestata: “Ministere de l’Instuction publique”. Nitido corsivo, inchiostro bruno. In testa la data, sotto la firma “Le Ministre de l’Instruction publique, Guizot”, in fondo l’indirizzo del destinatario “M. Flamand-Gretry, 32 rue de Londres”. Buono stato di conservazione.

Nella sua funzione di Ministro dell’Istruzione Guizot, storico e uomo di Stato, si rammarica di non poter sostenere con un finanziamento l’opera “Itinéraire historique et pittoresque de la Vallée de Montmorency” scritta dal destinatario: “Je regrette, Monsieur, de ne pouvoir vous faire une réponse favorable : mais la situation des fonds de souscription m'oblige à l'économie la plus sévère et m'empêche de contracter aucun nouvel engagement.”
