Autograph. Guido GRANDI. Autograph letters.

One of the last letters written by the eminent mathematician. The letter is addressed to Fiacchi who became the librarian of the Camaldolese Order the same year, the order in which Grandi had entered in 1687: he refers to a volume arrived from Venice and quotes Angelo Calogerà. The volume in question is certainly the volume 51 of the '?Raccolta d'opuscoli scientifici, e filologici', Venice, Simone Occhi, 1741, direct publication by Calogerà, in which there was a geometric Epistle of the same Grandi. The mathematician was now devoid of strength and writes, referring to Calogera: "non gli posso più scrivere, avendo la mente imbrogliata, che non mi lascia discorrere di cosa alcuna". At the top, in black ink the same Fiacchi notes: "Pisa 17 Nov.bre 1741, questa è l?ultima scrittami, essendo morto nel 1742".
