In 4to; mm. 270x192. Pp. 4. The first page contains the letter and the signature of Carlo Dati. In a different orientation, on the left margin of the first page the following is written: "Per grazia le nostre non vadano male". On the back side contemporary notes. Brown ink. Good state of conservation.

Condition Report

A rare autograph letter of the distinguished Florentine scholar, philosopher and scientist, who in addition to scientific studies also held a goldcraft shop, to which this letter refers. He remembers the Marquis Francesco Riccardi, a refined scholar and collector of books, and Cardinal Altieri, probably the future Pope Clement X. The addressee of the letter is not indicated, perhaps is Alessandro Segni, a member of the Florentine Academy, the first secretary of the Accademia del Cimento and academic of the Crusca, who was first a preceptor then a collaborator of the Marquis Riccardi.
