Prima edizione. Pfiefer: “Just as imported Indian textiles were regulated by the French state, so too were imitation Indiennes made by national manufacturers. On 24 December 1701, the King’s Council of State passed a decree prohibiting the painting or printing of Eastern style textiles called Siamoise, a fine cotton and silk or wool blend, as well as any similar sort of textile made of cotton and fine wool or silk.”
