Bella copia ottocentesca dell’originale del Durer datato 1504.
L’opera, incisa nel 1504, rappresenta Adamo ed Eva nell’istante che precede il peccato originale.
In questa stampa l’autore esprime tutto il suo studio della figura umana che tiene conto dei canoni proporzionali vitruviani, della statuaria classica e delle opere degli artisti italiani a lui precedenti e contemporanei.
I due personaggi sono raffigurati nudi tra gli alberi in un ambiente naturale ricco di simboli.
Gli animali infatti si collegano alla teoria medioevale dei quattro umori che, scorrendo nel corpo umano, ne determinerebbero il temperamento in base alla prevalenza di uno sugli altri.
Essi sono la sensualità del coniglio, l’apatia flemmatica del bue, la crudeltà del gatto verso il topo e la tetraggine malinconica dell’alce.

Beautiful nineteenth-century copy of Durer's original dated 1504.
The work, engraved in 1504, represents Adam and Eve in the instant that precedes original sin.
In this print the author expresses all his study of the human figure which takes into account the proportional Vitruvian canons, the classical statuary and the works of Italian artists previous and contemporary to him.
The two characters are depicted naked in the trees in a natural environment rich in symbols.
In fact, animals are linked to the medieval theory of the four humours which, flowing in the human body, would determine their temperament based on the prevalence of one over the others.
They are the sensuality of the rabbit, the phlegmatic apathy of the ox, the cat's cruelty to the mouse and the melancholy tetrageness of the moose.
