Acquaforte di 240x180 mm. Firmato in basso a sx: J F Van Bloemen. Incollata agli angoli su cartoncino. Bell’esemplare.

Van Bloemen era affascinato dalla bellezza di Roma e dei suoi dintorni ed ispirato dai paesaggi classici di Gaspard Dughet. Avendo come base la tradizione paesaggistica fiamminga, non ebbe difficoltà ad assimilare il realismo analitico di Dughet e a divenire in breve uno dei migliori paesaggisti classici a Roma nella prima metà del XVIII secolo procedendo secondo lo stile arcadico-rococò del periodo.

Van Bloemen was fascinated by the beauty of Rome and its surroundings and inspired by the classic landscapes of Gaspard Dughet. Having as a basis the Flemish landscape tradition, he had no difficulty in assimilating the analytical realism of Dughet and in shortly becoming one of the best classical landscape painters in Rome in the first half of the XVIII century, proceeding according to the Arcadian-Rococo style of the period.
