Litografia a colori. Foglio intelato di 394x278 mm. Testo in francese. Alcuni strappetti ai margini. Buon esemplare.

Raro foglio dell’Epinal di stampo caricaturale in cui è immortalato Guillaume Joseph Rousselle, un ufficiale giudiziario francese della città di Auxerre la cui eccentricità è stata gentilmente derisa in una canzone che porta il suo nome e il cui testo viene riportato ai lati e in basso all’incisione. Secondo questa canzone, il cadetto Rousselle aveva "Tre case, tre vestiti, tre monete e una spada, tre begli occhi, tre grossi cani e tre bei gatti". Divenne una canzone di marcia per gli eserciti della Rivoluzione e poi una filastrocca.

Rare Epinal’s caricatured sheet depicting Guillaume Joseph Rousselle, a French officer of the city of Auxerre whose eccentricity was kindly mocked in a song that bears his name and whose text is reproduced on the sides and at the bottom of the engraving. According to this song, the cadet Rousselle had "Three houses, three clothes, three coins and a sword, three beautiful eyes, three big dogs and three beautiful cats". It became a marching song for the armies of the Revolution and then a nursery rhyme.
