Litografia a colori su cartoncino di 240x240 mm. Bell’esemplare.

Bellissima locandina propagandistica per suggellare l'Alleanza franco-russa, o Duplice Intesa, un patto militare difensivo tra la Francia e la Russia definitosi fra il 1891 e il 1894 in risposta al rinnovo della Triplice alleanza tra Germania, Austria e Italia. La locandina mostra la personificazione dei due Stati (la donna rossa rappresenta la Francia, quella in giallo la Russia) mentre si stringono la mano, mentre ai loro lati si esalta la forza militare francese terrestre e navale. In basso, entro ovali, i sottoscrittori del trattato.

Beautiful propaganda poster to seal the Franco-Russian Alliance, or Double Alliance, a defensive military pact between France and Russia defined between 1891 and 1894 in response to the renewal of the Triple Alliance between Germany, Austria and Italy. The poster shows the personification of the two states (the red woman represents France, the yellow one Russia) while shaking hands, while on their sides the French military force on land and naval is exalted. Below, within ovals, the signatories of the treaty.
