Tra il 1730 e il 1740 si diffuse in Europa una nuova tecnica di sviluppo delle stampe chiamata “Veduta ottica”. La peculiarità di questo tipo di incisione si trova nella prospettiva che essendo volutamente molto accentuata conferiva profondità alla scena e nella resa finale che grazie a delle finestrelle distribuite nell’immagine e ad una fonte di luce appositamente posizionata in un punto particolare, riusciva ad ottenere una doppia visione con un effetto giorno / notte di spettacolare suggestione.

Between 1730 and 1740 a new technique for developing prints called "Optical view" spread throughout Europe. The peculiarity of this type of engraving is found in the perspective which, being deliberately very accentuated, gave depth to the scene and in the final rendering which, thanks to the windows distributed in the image and to a light source specially positioned in a particular point, was able to obtain a double vision with a day / night effect of spectacular suggestion.
