Manifesto a colori di 114 x 80 cm. In basso i dati tipografici, a sinistra firma. Buono stato di conservazione.

Manifesto patriottico della prima guerra mondiale pubblicato a Parigi nel 1917 per incoraggiare i francesi a sottoscrivere il terzo prestito per la difesa nazionale. 
Il tema scelto è il toccante abbraccio tra un soldato, probabilmente in partenza verso il fronte, e la sua figlioletta, mentre in secondo piano, non colorata, la moglie allatta un figlio al seno.
I manifesti erano un ottimo mezzo di propaganda e molti furono creati con temi allegorici “patriottici”, destinati a suscitare emozioni e generosità.
Jules Marie Auguste Leroux (1871 – 1954) fu un pittore e illustratore francese.

A patriotic First World War poster published in Paris in 1917 to encourage the French to subscribe to the Third National Defence Loan. 
The chosen theme is the touching embrace between a soldier, probably on his way to the front, and his little daughter, while in the background, uncoloured, his wife breastfeeds a child.
Posters were an excellent means of propaganda and many were created with allegorical ‘patriotic’ themes, intended to arouse emotion and generosity.
Jules Marie Auguste Leroux (1871 - 1954) was a French painter and illustrator.
