Important illustrated edition, which brings together two works released at first separately: Traité in 1690, the Dissertation in 1689. The allegorical frontispiece is a tribute to Lodovicus Magnus, King "Restorer of Coins", the many etchings in the text and 59 out text plates depicting the French coins. Michaud: "Le Traité is written with method, science, depth; The Dissertation is an excellent work in which the author proves that the King of France had the right to sovereignty in the city of Rome.
