 Reminiscenze partenopee album di sessanta tavole rappresentanti costumi e vedute di Napoli, soggetti storici, morali e religiosi, ritratti, statue.Vendesi dai principali librai prezzo ducati sei. S.l. ne s.d. ,1840.

Album in small folio, mm 205x275; contemporary wrappers; title page e LX plates, mostly woodcut plates. Very nice specimen with wide margins.

Condition Report

Neapolitan composite album of extraordinary rarity. Beautiful collection of 60 woodcut plates, with , views of Naples, portraits, historical subjects. Some woodcut are signed by Giacomo Lenghi and C.L. Samaritani. The subjects represented are: Pulcinella, public scribe, Acquajolo, eat macaroni, Sorbettaro, Mariners, porter, singing stories at the pier, etc. Other plates show: Tarantella, Mount Vesuvius, bagatelle or marionette theater, Calesse of Naples etc. These albums were sold to tourists of the "Grand Tour" passing through Naples and buying these most popular folk compositions of the city.
