Martyrdom of the Twelve Apostles is a series of engravings by Jacques Callot. It is a series of small scenes, often titled “The Little Apostles” or “The Martyrdom of the Apostles,” depicting the various apostles of Christ undergoing martyrdom. Callot made this series around 1632, and each engraving shows a different apostle in a martyrdom situation. The artist is known for his detailed style and his ability to depict complex scenes with great finesse.

Later edition of the “Little Passion.” Engravings in counterpart to Callot's originals.
All engravings are signed on the plate (“J. Callot”) and with a biblical passage in caption with explanation of the scene.

Behind the Savior the scene of the Crucifixion and Resurrection, behind the saints on the left their works of evangelization and on the right the scene of their martyrdom.
