In 8vo piccolo; 152x100 mm. Legatura in bazzana bruna marmorizzata. Titolo in oro su tassello al dorso. Pp. X, 11-221. Ex Libris manoscritto all’occhietto e alla prima pagina. Foxing diffuso, buon esemplare.

Rara seconda edizione. Pamphlet curioso e piccante, che denuncia l’ipocrisia dei costumi e della morale corrente. Gay: “Cadre satirique, rempli d'anecdotes scandaleuses, où les libertins, les jésuites et les grands ne sont pas épargnés (opera satirica, piena di aneddoti scandalosi, dove sono messi alla berlina i libertini, i gesuiti e i potenti)”

Small 8vo, 152x100 mm. Brown marble roan, label with gilt title to the spine. Pages X, 11-221. Ex Libris manuscript on the half-title end cap and on the first page. Widespread foxing, good copy.

Rare second edition. Curious and risqué pamphlet, which denounces the hypocrisy of current customs and morals. Gay: “Cadre satirique, rempli d'anecdotes scandaleuses, où les libertins, les jésuites et les grands ne sont pas épargnés (satirical work, full of scandalous anecdotes, where libertines, Jesuits and the powerful are ridiculed).
