8vo, 185x145 mm. Due pagine manoscritte in elegante grafia in inchiostro bruno. Bell’esemplare.

La Rochefoucauld, primo duca di Doudeauville (Parigi 1765 - Montmirail 1841) fu Segretario di stato della Maison du Roi tra il 1824 e il 1828.
"È con grande fiducia che ho l'onore di inviarvi il memorandum allegato. È una questione che mi interessa perché riguarda la giustizia e l'umanità, e per questo interesserà Madame la Princesse Borghese (sorella di Napoleone). Vi chiedo di parlarne con lei e di chiederle di raccomandarlo a Madame Bonaparte (madre). Conosco troppo bene il desiderio di bontà che hanno entrambe per rimproverarmi per questa importunità, e per non illudermi che avrà il successo che dovrebbe avere... Vi prego di non dimenticarmi nemmeno con il Principe...”

La Rochefoucauld, first Duc de Doudeauville (Paris 1765 - Montmirail 1841) was secretary of state of the Maison du Roi between 1824 and 1828.
"It is with great confidence that I have the honor of sending you the enclosed memorandum. It is a matter that interests me because it concerns justice and humanity, and for that reason it will interest Madame la Princesse Borghese (Napoleon's sister). I ask you to discuss it with her and ask her to recommend it to Madame Bonaparte (mother). I know too well the desire for goodness that they both have to reproach me for this importunity, and not to delude myself that it will be as successful as it should be.... Please do not forget me even with the Prince..."
