4to; 230x180 mm. Tre pagine manoscritte in inchiostro bruno, una bianca. Carta intestata a stampa, vergellata e con filigrana. Buon esemplare.

Lettera autografa di Linois, Capo di Stato Maggiore dell'Armata Navale indirizzata al contrammiraglio Vence, comandante dell'Arma. 
Linois chiede a Vence di procedere all'istruzione della resa della fregata La Sensible esponendo la situazione dell'ex capitano di questa fregata ”pénible pour l'homme d'honneur qui se persuade avoir constamment suivi les lois de son devoir...” Gli invia inoltre "l'état des bâtiments envoyés composant l'armée, et les noms de leurs commandants" e accusa il ricevimento dei segnali costieri inviati.
Charles-Alexandre Léon Durand Linois (1761 – 1848) fu ammiraglio della Marina, vincitore contro gli inglesi nella battaglia di Algeciras nel 1801.

4to; 230x180 mm. Three handwritten pages in brown ink, one blank. Printed letterhead, laid paper with watermark. Good specimen.

Autograph letter from Linois, Chief of Staff of the Naval Armada addressed to Rear Admiral Vence, commander of the Arm. 
Linois asks Vence to proceed with the instruction of the surrender of the frigate La Sensible exposing the situation of the former captain of this frigate “pénible pour l'homme d'honneur qui se persuade avoir constamment suivi les lois de son devoir...” He also sends him "l'état des bâtiments envoyés composant l'armée, et les noms de leurs commandants" and acknowledges receipt of the coastal signals sent.
Charles-Alexandre Léon Durand Linois (1761 - 1848) was a naval admiral, victorious against the British at the Battle of Algeciras in 1801.
