Two printed newletters from the Bureau des Hospices et Secours circulated by the Prefect of Calvados Charles Ambroise de Caffarelli du Falga (1758 - 1826), relating to epidemics and for the purpose of publicizing the advantages of Vaccine inoculation.
The Bureau des Hospices et Secours was a French institution established in 1796 responsible for the management of hospices and assistance to people in need. It was an institution that combined both the sheltering of people in need, particularly the elderly, sick or infirm, and the distribution of social assistance.
