Folio, mm. 310 x 235; Quarter vellum binding, gilt tilte on calf label at the spine, covers in board, sprayed edges; pp. 7, including engraved title page, [13], 521, [39]; Pictorial title page engraved on copper, 9 woodcuts within text of which 1 at full page, 3 plates folded out text. Some waterstain on some leaves, plates with reinforcement, fresh specimen with wide margins.

Rare first edition, illustrated. Important source of history of the city of Padua, accompanied by notable illustrations. The splendid copper-engraved title page bears the title within the architectural aedicule with allegorical figures on the sides, in the predella the allegories of the Bacchiglione and Brenta rivers; the repeatedly folded tables depict the Carroccio Paduan, signed by P. P. Tozzi, Padua surrounded by old walls and Padua surrounded by new walls. A large woodcut in the text depicts the Basilica del Santo, the others, including a full page, illustrate ancient war machines; a further small incision on page 97, outlines the rhomboidal plan of the Palazzo della Ragione.
