4to; 275x220 mm. Pp. 7, 1 bianca. Testatina xil. e Inizial xil. con i gigli di Francia. Buon esemplare con ampi margini. 

Ordinanza del Consiglio del Re per erigere una statua equestre di Luigi XV nell’allora Place Louis XV, oggi Place de la Concorde. L'opera, realizzata da Edmé Bouchardon, rappresentava il re come un pacificatore e fu eretta per celebrare la sua guarigione. Il monumento fu distrutto nel 1792 durante la Rivoluzione e la piazza divenne luogo di esecuzioni con la ghigliottina.

Condition Report

4to; 275 x 220 mm. 7 pp., 1 blank. Woodcut headpiece and woodcut initial with the fleurs-de-lis of France. A good copy with wide margins.

Order of the King's Council to erect an equestrian statue of Louis XV in the then Place Louis XV, now the Place de la Concorde. The work, created by Edmé Bouchardon, depicted the king as a peacemaker and was erected to celebrate his recovery. The monument was destroyed in 1792 during the Revolution, and the square became a site of executions by guillotine.
