In 4to. 210x160 mm. Legatura coeva in piena pelle marrone con riquadro di duplice filetto impresso a secco sui piatti, ornato all’esterno con piccoli semicerchi e con fleurons agli angoli, titolo su tassello al dorso a cinque nervi. Pagine [22], 487, 1 bianca. Carattere tondo e italico, Iniziali ornate, numerosi diagrammi, figure geometriche e astronomiche nel testo. Manca, come in quasi tutti gli esemplari, il fascicolo di due carte con segnatura 5*, che contengono il "Lectori benigno S.", un elenco aggiuntivo di errata e versi a Mulerus di P. Winsemius. Tracce d’uso alla legatura, internamente lievi difetti sulla parte superiore del margine causati dall’umidità, sporadiche macchiette, in complesso buon esemplare genuino. 

Importantissima e rarissima edizione del De Revolutionis di Copernico. Si tratta della terza edizione, curata e corretta da Nicolaus Müller, professore di matematica all'Università di Groninga, che correda il testo con interessanti note. Van Netten osserva che questa edizione è considerata la più corretta dell'opera di Copernico rispetto alle precedenti edizioni del 1543 e del 1566. Hooykaas rileva che Muller ha corretto diversi passi del testo di Copernico, che erano stati pubblicati con errori nelle due edizioni precedenti, in particolare riguardo al moto circolare dei corpi celesti di cui tratta il Libro I, Capitolo 8. Questo esemplare risulta mancante, come in quasi tutte le copie, delle due carte non numerate 5*, censurate all’epoca per il riferimento a Copernico, definito “Mathematicus summus”.
Nicolaus Mulerius, 1564 – 1630, nel 1603 divenne il medico più importante di Groninga e nel 1608 assunse la carica di preside del ginnasio di Leeuwarden. Dal 1614 fu professore di medicina e matematica all'Università di Groninga. Dal 1619 al 1621 e dal 1626 al 1630, fu responsabile della biblioteca dell'Università di Groninga. Nel 1616, pubblicò un manuale di astronomia che ricordava la Sfera di Johannes de Sacrobosco.

In 4to; 210x160 mm. Contemporary full brown leather binding framed with double blind tooling rules on covers decorated with small semicircles and with flowers at the corners, title on label on spine with 5 nerfs. Pp. [22], 487, 1 blank. Round and italic type. Decorated initials, several diagrams, geometrical and astronomical illustrations in the text. Missing, as in almost all copies, is the quire of two leaves 5*, which contain the "Lectori benigno S.", an additional list of errata and verses to Mulerus by P. Winsemius. Traces of wear on binding, internally slight defects on the upper part of margins for humidity, sporadic stains; overall a good fresh specimen.

A very important and extremely rare edition of Copernicus's De Revolutionis. This is the third edition, edited and corrected by Nicolaus Müller, professor of mathematics at the University of Groningen, who provided the text with interesting notes. Van Netten observes that this edition is considered the most correct of Copernicus's work compared to the previous editions of 1543 and 1566. Hooykaas notes that Müller corrected several passages of Copernicus's text that had been published with errors in the two previous editions, particularly regarding the circular motion of celestial bodies discussed in Book I, Chapter 8. This copy is missing, as in almost all copies, the two unnumbered folios 5*, censored at the time for their reference to Copernicus, called "Mathematicus summus."
Nicolaus Mulerius, 1564–1630, became Groningen's leading physician in 1603 and became head of the Leeuwarden Gymnasium in 1608. From 1614, he was professor of medicine and mathematics at the University of Groningen. From 1619 to 1621 and from 1626 to 1630, he was in charge of the University of Groningen library. In 1616, he published an astronomy manual reminiscent of Johannes de Sacrobosco's Sphere.
