An interesting set of 25 business correspondence letters sent from the ports of Newcastle and Cardiff, signed Smith, Powell, and Pring. These letters, dated 1850 to 1854, are addressed to Mr. Hippolyte Worms, 46 Rue Laffitte in Paris. Interesting texts on naval cargoes, warehousing, and wholesale trade. Hippolyte Worms (1802–1877), founder of the Worms Company, created in the 1840s, specializing in maritime transport, logistics, and wholesale trade. This company would later become the Worms Bank.
