Importante stampa, di grande impatto, che raffigura l’esecuzione di Luigi XVI tramite ghigliottina il 21 Gennaio 1793 in Place de la Révolution. La sua morte segnò la fine di un'epoca e di un regime. La didascalia appella il re come “Louis Capet” in quanto durante la Rivoluzione venne chiamato Luigi Capeto, poiché discendente di Ugo Capeto, fondatore della dinastia, nell'intenzione di dissacrarne lo status di re.

Bella stampa di grande formato tratta da un disegno di Charles Monnet che raffigura il concitato assalto del popolo di Parigi alla prigione della Bastiglia il 14 Luglio 1789; è l’episodio che scatena la Rivoluzione Francese.

Bella incisione tratta da un disegno di Charles Monnet con un episodio della Rivoluzione Francese: il 14 Luglio 1790, primo anniversario della presa della Bastiglia, si celebra in Campo di Marte la Festa della Federazione.

Bella incisione tratta da un disegno di Charles Monnet che rappresenta la fontana che venne costruita nel 1793 nel luogo dove sorgeva la prigione della Bastiglia. Conosciuta come la "Fontana della Rigenerazione", era di ispirazione egiziana e raffigurava una donna dal cui seno sgorgava l'acqua.

Isidore Stanislas Helman (1743 – 1806), fu un incisore francese molto apprezzato per la leggerezza e morbidezza del suo bulino che produsse numerose incisioni da molti dipinti della fine del XVIII secolo, tra cui opere di Nicolas Lavreince, Pierre Antoine Baudouin, Jean Duplessis-Bertaux, Jean-Baptiste Le Prince, Hubert Robert, Louis-Joseph Watteau e altri.

Important print, of great impact, depicting the execution of Louis XVI by guillotine on 21 January 1793 in Place de la Révolution. His death marked the end of an era and a regime. The caption refers to the king as ‘Louis Capet’ because during the Revolution he was called Louis Capet, as he was a descendant of Hugh Capet, the founder of the dynasty, with the intention of desecrating his status as king.

A beautiful engraving from a drawing by Charles Monnet depicting the fountain that was built in 1793 on the site of the Bastille prison. Known as the ‘Fountain of Regeneration’, it was of Egyptian inspiration and depicted a woman from whose breast water gushed forth.


Isidore Stanislas Helman (1743 - 1806), was a French engraver highly appreciated for the lightness and smoothness of his burin, who produced numerous engravings from many late 18th century paintings, including works by Nicolas Lavreince, Pierre Antoine Baudouin, Jean Duplessis-Bertaux, Jean-Baptiste Le Prince, Hubert Robert, Louis-Joseph Watteau and others.
