Paris, Vve Jean Le Clerc, 1632
A seminal work in the history of cartography, as it is one of the first detailed atlases to cover all the provinces of France. It illustrates the evolution of the French atlas under Louis XIII, serving as a bridge between Renaissance cartography and the more scientific cartography of the late 17th century.
After Le Clerc’s death, his widow continued to publish the atlas, often in collaboration with Jean Boisseau, producing this noteworthy edition.
