Prima edizione. Questo monumentale dizionario greco divenne la base della lessicologia greca; per trecento anni nessun dizionario avrebbe potuto competere con quello di Estienne.
Schreiber: “remains to this day the essential tool for the study of Greek, since there still exists no substitute for it”. Considine: “most comprehensive and sophisticated lexical record of any European language that had ever been published”.

First edition. This monumental Greek dictionary became the cornerstone of Greek lexicography; for three hundred years, no other dictionary could rival Estienne’s. Schreiber: “remains to this day the essential tool for the study of Greek, since there still exists no substitute for it”. Considine: “most comprehensive and sophisticated lexical record of any European language that had ever been published”.
