Bella edizione di questo raro trattato di gnomonica, seguito da un trattatello di longimetria e agrimensura, accompagnato da tavole logaritmiche. Il padre gesuita Pierre Bobynet [Montluçon 1593 - Orléans 1668] fu docente di filosofia e rettore di La Flèche ed altri collegi gesuitici; pubblicò svariati testi di gnomonica derivati dal presente. De Backer-Sommervogel, I/col. 1557 n. 2; Houzeau-Lancaster, n. 11458. Turner, Ritmi del cielo e misura del tempo, n. 72 [la prima edizione].

3 parti in 1 volume in 8vo; mm.160 x 100; Legatura in piena pelle coeva, dorso a cinque nervi con titoli e fregi in oro; pp. 12, 332, 12;  pp. 109,7; pp. 32 di tavv. logaritmiche. Con 24 tavv. in rame  f.t. al termine ed l tavola fuori numerazione più volte ripiegata di Instrumens pour les Cadrans. Firme di antica appartenenza al frontespizio, nota manoscritta cassata al frontespizio. Buon esemplare.

Beautiful edition of this rare treatise on gnomonics, followed by a treatise on longimetry and surveying, accompanied by logarithmic tables. The Jesuit father Pierre Bobynet [Montluçon 1593 - Orléans 1668] was a professor of philosophy and rector of La Flèche and other Jesuit colleges.

3 parts in 1 vol. 8vo; mm. 160x100; Contemporary full leather binding, gilt tiltes and ornaments on the spine. Pp. 12, 332, 12;  pp. 109, 7; pp. 32 of logaritmics plates. With 24 copper plates at the end. Signatures of belongings on title page and end papers, note erased from titlepage, good copy.
