Prima edizione di questa raccolta di testi. Il Sidereus Nuncius, pubblicato per la prima volta a nel 1610 e considerato come il testo fondante dell'astronomia moderna, presenta la scoperta epocale delle fasi lunari e dei satelliti di Giove. 
Il Dioptrice contiene la brillante spiegazione di Keplero su come funzioni un telescopio.
L'Institutio Astronomica č considerata come il primo manuale moderno di astronomia; comprende tre sezioni dedicate rispettivamente alla teoria delle sfere, alla teoria astronomica e al confronto tra le idee di Brahe e Copernico.

Legatura coeva in pelle bruna con rigatura a secco e piccole ghiande agli angoli, Tassello rosso con i nomi degli Autori in oro sul dorso. Pagine, [16], 199, 1 bianca; 173, 1 bianca, 3 tavole fuori testo dopo pagina 32. Frontespizio generale in rosso e nero, numerose illustrazioni xilografiche di diverse dimensioni nel testo. 
Nella seconda parte: GALILEI, Sidererus Nuncius, pagine 1-32, compreso Frontespizio, 4 tavole incise f.t., 33-50; KEPLER, Dioptrice, Pagine [2, Frontespizio], 53- 173, 1 bianca. 
Ex libris del Professore, Astronomo, Storico e Bibliofilo Owen Gingerich incollato al contropiatto. Dorso rifatto, ultima carta bianca incollata al contropiatto, tracce d’uso al Frontespizio, sporadico lieve foxing, buon esemplare.

First edition of this collection of texts. The “Sidereus Nuncius”, first published in 1610 and regarded as the seminal text of modern astronomy, presents the groundbreaking discovery of the phases of the Moon and Jupiter’s moons. 
The “Dioptrice” contains Kepler’s brilliant explanation of how a telescope works.
The “Institutio Astronomica” is regarded as the first modern manual of astronomy; it comprises three sections devoted respectively to the theory of the spheres, astronomical theory and a comparison of the ideas of Brahe and Copernicus.

Three works in a volume in large 8vo with separated title pages. 178x108 mm. Contemporary leather binding with blinding lines and acorns at the corners, red label with gilt names of authors on spine. Pp. [16], 199, 1 blank; 173, 1 blank, 3 plates out text after page 32. General title page printed in red and black, several woodcut illustrations of different sizes in the text.
In the second part: GALILEI, Sidererus Nuncius, pp. 1-32, including titlepage, 4 engraved plates, 33-50; KEPLER, Dioptrice, Pp [2, title page], 53- 173, 1 blank.
Bookplate by Professor, Astronomer, Historian, and Bibliophile Owen Gingerich glued to the inside cover. Spine repaired, with a final leaf of white blank pasted to the inside front cover; signs of wear on the title page; occasional slight foxing; a good copy.
