Incisione in rame, carta intelata su tela, 487x560 mm. Buone condizioni, qualche piccola mancanza.  


Carta geografica raffigurante l'Italia nord occidentale, contornata da ricca cornice. Foglio n° XI facente parte della grande carta del Regno Austro - Ungarico a titolo " General - Karte des Oesterreischen Kaiserstaates . " dedicata a Franz Josef dem Ersten Kaiser von Oesterreich, edita in 20 fogli. 

Questo foglio fa parte di una serie creata da Josef Scheda, ingegnere del Corpo Geografico dell'Istituto Geografico Militare Austriaco. La serie è nota per l'incredibile livello di dettaglio ed è considerata un trionfo delle tecniche di incisione dell'epoca. Le mappe rientravano in un progetto più ampio volto a documentare e comunicare l'estensione geografica dell'Impero austriaco.

Joseph Scheda, 1815-1888, fu un ufficiale Austriaco, geografo e cartografo. Fu Direttore del Kaiserlich-Konigliches Militar-Geographisches Institut (MGI) in Vienna.

This sheet is part of a series created by Josef Scheda, an engineer with the Geographic Corps of the Austrian Military Geographical Institute. The series is noted for its incredible detail and is considered a triumph of the engraving skills of the time. The maps were part of a larger endeavor to document and communicate the geographical breadth of the Austrian Empire.

Joseph Scheda, 1815-1888, was an Austrian officer, geographer, and cartographer. He was director of the Kaiserlich-Konigliches Militar-Geographisches Institut (MGI) in Vienna.
