Interessante litografia a sfondo naturalistico della flora brasiliana, in cui vengono raffigurate due specie di palme originarie della vegetazione della foresta pluviale amazzonica nelle pianure alluvionali del Rio Negro.
Hohe fu è un disegnatore, pittore e litografo tedesco. Von Martus fu un botanico, zoologo e antropologo tedesco.
Dal 1817 a 1820, assieme allo zoologo Johann Baptist Ritter von Spix guidò una spedizione in Brasile, per conto del re di Baviera, nel corso della quale fu esplorato il corso del Rio delle Amazzoni e alcuni affluenti come il Tabatinga. Durante il loro viaggio in Brasile, inoltre, furono fatte importanti osservazioni sulla vita, la cultura e le lingue degli indigeni brasiliani, specialmente dei Tupi.
Inserita nell’opera “Atlas zur Reise in Brasilien in den Jahren 1817 bis 1820”, Munchen 1823-1831.

Interesting lithography with a naturalistic background of Brazilian flora, depicting two species of palm trees native to the vegetation of the Amazon rainforest in the floodplains of the Rio Negro.
Hohe fu is a German draftsman, painter and lithographer. Von Martus was a German botanist, zoologist and anthropologist.
From 1817 to 1820, together with the zoologist Johann Baptist Ritter von Spix he led an expedition to Brazil, on behalf of the King of Bavaria, during which the course of the Amazon River and some tributaries such as the Tabatinga were explored. During their trip to Brazil, important observations were also made on the life, culture and languages of the Brazilian natives, especially the Tupi.
Included in the work: “Atlas zur Reise in Brasilien in den Jahren 1817 bis 1820”, Munchen 1823-1831.
