Acquaforte e bulino. 232x160 mm. Margini. Carta forte vergellata. Iscrizioni: sotto l’immagine “Fraterna di S. Nicolò de marineri di Venezia”; in basso a destra “appo Wagner Venezia”. Buono stato di conservazione. 

Bella e rara stampa della Calcografia Wagner. San Niccolò, protettore della flotta di Venezia, è raffigurato attorniato dagli angeli: sotto di lui velieri e triremi veneziani. Joseph Wagner, 1706-1780, incisore a bulino, disegnatore e pittore, nel 1739 fondò a Venezia la Calcografia Wagneriana, ove lavorarono eccellenti artisti quali Bartolozzi e Flipart e che divenne in breve tempo il più importante centro di produzione di stampe della Serenissima.

Beautiful and rare print of the Wagner chalcography. San Niccolò, protector of the Venice fleet, is depicted surrounded by angels: under him Venetian sailing ships and triremes. Joseph Wagner, 1706-1780, burin engraver, draftsman and painter, in 1739 founded the Wagnerian Chalcography in Venice, where excellent artists such as Bartolozzi and Flipart worked and which quickly became the most important print production center of the Serenissima.
