Rare illustrated second edition, enlarged and corrected. This edition is more important than the first of 1687: it contains 140 more engravings of medals, for a total of 303 medals; in addition, as the publisher explains in the warning at the end of the book, 60 medals that in the first edition had been reproduced, by mistake of the Paris engravers, in reverse, have been re-engraved and corrected. The final 12 pages provide a detailed explanation of the corrections; the last 2 pages list the plates outside the text and their location.
