Prima edizione. Il titolo è riferito in modo specifico alle zone irrigue del Basso Milanese, ovvero alle "marcite". L’opera in evidenza la notevole importanza di questa tipica coltivazione del territorio milanese irriguo per l'economia delle aziende agricole, descrivendo le modalità tecniche necessarie per realizzarla. Con titolo più specifico, fu poi ripubblicato alcuni anni dopo. Domenico Berra (1771 – 1835) è stato un agronomo e avvocato italiano.

Rara opera sulla composizione di giardini e appezzamenti rurali sia pubblici che privati. L’autore, maresciallo di campo, fu il primo a tentare in Francia di dare ai giardini forme varie e pittoresche, di cui i parchi di Ermenonville ne sono un fulgido esempio.

First edition. The title refers specifically to the irrigated areas of the Lower Milanese area, or the "marcite". The work highlights the notable importance of this typical cultivation of the irrigated Milanese territory for the economy of agricultural companies, describing the technical methods necessary to carry it out. With a more specific title, it was then republished a few years later. Domenico Berra (1771 – 1835) was an Italian agronomist and lawyer.

Rare work on the composition of gardens and rural plots, both public and private. The author, a field marshal, was the first in France to attempt to give gardens various and picturesque shapes, of which the parks of Ermenonville are a shining example.
