Grande fotografia in bianco e nero. 225x190 mm. Sul verso è stampigliata in rosso la scritta “May 18 1972”. Sotto è incollata una didascalia, con la stessa data e con indicazione ‘A.P. Wirephoto’. Ottimo stato di conservazione.

John Lennon e Yoko Ono si erano trasferiti a New York all’inizio del 1971. La fotografia li ritrae nle maggio del 1972 mentre parlano con i giornalisti fuori dall’ufficio dell’immigrazione a New York. In quel periodo FBI aveva aperto un fascicolo d’indagine su Lennon, con l’espressa volontà di farlo espellere dal Paese, a causa delle sue posizioni politiche. Fotografia stampata tramite la tecnologia Wirephoto, sviluppata in esclusiva dagli ingegneri dell'Associated Press.

Large black and white photograph. 225 x 190 mm. The verso is stamped in red with the words "May 18, 1972." A caption is glued underneath, with the same date and the words "A.P. Wirephoto." Excellent condition.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono had moved to New York in early 1971. The photograph shows them in May 1972, talking to reporters outside the immigration office in New York. At that time, the FBI had opened an investigation into Lennon, with the express intention of having him deported due to his political views. Photograph printed using Wirephoto technology, developed exclusively by Associated Press engineers.
