Ristampa della traduzione di Ryff (Strasburgo, 1543), con l'aggiunta delle Annotationes di Philandrier (o Philander) del 1544. 
Philander studiò con Serlio a Venezia e lavorò su Vitruvio a Roma presso l'Accademia delle Virtù. Millard: "Philander's work is at once a learned study and a practical manuel of architecture, incorporating the methods of both the humanists and architects. It is the first synthesis of academic and practical interpretations of Virtruvius' treatise to appear in published form."

8vo; 200x150 mm. Legatura in pelle di scrofa tedesca goffrata su sottili tavole di legno con la data 1550 e le iniziali B.S.V. stampate sulla copertina superiore. Collazione: AA-DD4 EE-FF4 GG-HH4 II2 A-Z4 aa-zz4 Aa-Ss4 a-e4. Pp. [60], 493, [59], e4 bianca.  Caratteri romani e corsivi, 36 righe più titolo. 156 illustrazioni xilografiche, occasionali annotazioni a margine e sottolineature in inchiostro nero e rosso, e note sui risguardi in una grafia del XVIII secolo. Occasionali lievi macchie e legatura rifatta conservando gran parte del dorso originale.

A reprint of Ryff's translation (Strassburg, 1543), with the addition of Philandrier's Annotationes of 1544. Philander (or Philandrier) studied with Serlio in Venice and worked on Vitruvius in Rome in the Accademia delle Virtú. Millard: "Philander's work is at once a learned study and a practical manuel of architecture, incorporating the methods of both the humanists and architects. 8vo; 200 x 150 mm. German blindstamped pigskin binding over thin wooden boards (208 x 165 mm), with the date 1550 and initials B.S.V. stamped on upper cover. Collation: AA-DD4 EE-FF4 GG-HH4 II2 A-Z4 aa-zz4 Aa-Ss4 a-e4: Pp. [60], 493, [59], e4 blank. Roman and italic type, 36 lines plus headline. 156 woodcut illustrations, occasional marginalia and underlining in black and red ink, and notes on endleaves in an eighteenth-century hand. Occasional light foxing, Rebacked retaining most of original spine.
