Acquaforte e puntasecca di 130x195 mm. In basso a dx, sul filomargine, una firma: Claudius inv. et F. Roma sub licentia. Incollata su cartoncino agli angoli. Bell’esemplare.

Stupenda incisione in cui i tratti scuri e ombrosi dei soggetti in primo piano si contrastano armoniosamente con la luce, espressa mediante sfumature sottili, che si sta spandendo in lontananza al sorgere del sole. Mannocci 15; Kitson 1990; Whiteley 1998.

Condition Report

Etching and drypoint of 130x195 mm. Signature on the lower right of the little margin: Claudius inv. et F. Roma sub licentia. Glued to the corners on cardboard. Nice specimen.

Superb engraving in which the dark and shady features of the subjects in the foreground contrast harmoniously with the light, expressed through subtle shades, which is spreading in the distance at sunrise.
