Folio, mm. 345x224. Contemporary full leather binding, gilt titles and ornaments on the spine. Pp. 16 including Half title and title page, 72, 6 of Index. 5 copper plates, many woodcut illustrations in the text. Binding with defects, sign of wear, restoration on half title and title page with slight loss, defects, tears on plates, uniform browning, unsophisticated copy.

Condition Report

First edition of Kircher's interpretation of hieroglyphs, carrying out the results on his studies in Egypt. In this work Kircher presents the sarcophagus discovered in 1672 in Egypt and brought to Lyon by M. de Four explaining the rules of funerals, metempsychosis and afterlife in the Egyptian costumes.
