The tragedies in this work include: Agamemnon, Hercules furens, Hercules Oetaeus, Medea, Octavia Praetexta, Oedipus, Phaedra, Phoenissae, Thyestes and Troades. Lodovico Dolce was a Venetian humanist and prolific author, translator and editor, worked for a long time by the Venetian publisher Gabriele Giolito de 'Ferrari.
