16mo, 141x66 mm; Binding in boards, title on label at the spine. Printer's device on title page. Woodcut initials, head pieces and ornaments. Sign of dampstain on the right margin of the first and last leaves. Good copy.

Condition Report

First Italian edition of Seneca tragedies translated by Lodovico Dolce. The tragedies in this work include: Agamemnon, Hercules furens, Hercules Oetaeus, Medea, Octavia Praetexta, Oedipus, Phaedra, Phoenissae, Thyestes and Troades. Lodovico Dolce was a Venetian humanist and prolific author, translator and editor, worked for a long time by the Venetian publisher Gabriele Giolito de 'Ferrari.
