Raro opuscolo del Père Duchesne n. 290, un giornale fondato nel 1790 da Jacques-René Hébert, giornalista e rivoluzionario francese.
Père Duchesne era una figura della commedia dell'arte perennemente in collera, pronto a denunciare vizi e abusi. Su ogni opuscolo campeggiava una figura incisa con la pipa in bocca e una didascalia.
Hébert pubblicò 355 numeri dal mese di settembre 1790 fino al 14 marzo 1794, dieci giorni prima della morte sulla ghigliottina, avvenuta il 24 marzo 1794.
«Le Grande colère du Père Duchesne, contre le palefrenier Houchard qui, comme son maître Custine, a tourné casaque à la Sans-Culotterie. Sa grande joie de voir bientôt ce butor mettre la tête à la fenêtre. Ses bons avis aux braves soldats républicains pour qu’ils lui dénoncent tous les jean-foutres qui regrettent l’ancien régime, et qui préfèrent de porter la livrée du tyran, plutôt que d’endosser l’habit des hommes libres.»
