Fondamentale opera nella storia della cartografia poiché costituisce uno dei primi atlanti dettagliati a coprire tutte le province della Francia. Rappresenta l'evoluzione dell'atlante francese sotto Luigi XIII, fungendo da ponte tra la cartografia rinascimentale e quella più scientifica del tardo XVII secolo.
Dopo la morte di Le Clerc, la vedova continuò a pubblicare l'atlante, spesso in collaborazione con Jean Boisseau, con questa edizione degna di nota.

Folio; 430x282 mm. Fogli sciolti in cartella di piena pelle moderna. Raccolta di 42 carte geografiche a doppia pagina in nero con testo al verso. Sono presenti 42 delle 50 carte. Frontespizio mancante. 4 carte geografiche gorate, una con mancanza al margine inferiore e minima mancanza dell’inciso, 1 sgualcita, 1 brunita.
